Blooms The Chemist is a community based pharmacy who have chosen to highlight this focus through their Our People, Our Community campaign.

We travelled to Mudgee, regional NSW to meet Sally and Alex, who are joint owners of the two Blooms The Chemist stores in town. Sally speaks about what got her into Pharmacy in the first place: “When I was looking at what I wanted to do, I wanted a profession where I could to help people. And I think that’s a pretty cool job to have.”

Through their story, we learn that these ladies are more than just business partners. Both Sally and Alex juggle taking care of their young children while running busy pharmacies, highlighting the importance of community and friendship in keeping them grounded. The story takes place against the backdrop of a regional town struggling to deal with drought, and the important role that a strong community plays in tough times.
