BUNDEENA PUBLIC SCHOOL
Kids produce community disaster preparedness video

The brief was to support the Bundeena local community to build awareness and create a sense of ownership for disaster preparedness. The local SES and RFS wanted to try a new approach in addition to traditional awareness raising programs. What better way to educate and share such an important message than through the very future of the community, the local children and social media networks they use.

This short film was produced through a series of inclusive film making workshops with Bundeena Public School in partnership with Sutherland Shire Council.

This collaboration was part of a broader project ‘Sutherland Shire Disaster Resilience’ that aimed to improve the resilience and preparedness of its residents in a range of innovative ways. The film reiterates the importance of the community being prepared for emergencies in the Sutherland Shire in a fun and engaging manner.
