HELPFUL BY NATURE
Mentorship in action

We’ve been working on a unique online campaign with Indigenous Australian led creative consultancy Campfire x that has recently gone live for a new partnership between Google Australia & The Guardian. The campaign features the stories of eight First Nations women who are mentors and mentees doing incredible work in their communities.

The campaign consists of two scene setting articles from Campfire x and Google, and four multi-media videos, images and articles on each pair of women.

The most uplifting thing about working with Campfire x to support sharing these eight women’s original and sometimes very personal stories has been the mantra of “nothing about them, without them.”

Throughout this process co-founders Brad Cooke & Peter Kirk above all else, respected each persons inclusion and involvement by ensuring each woman was regularly consulted and satisfied with their portrayal and a balanced weighting and representation of each persons story to ensure all participants had a fair and equal say.
Ultimately this unique trust between the participants and the creative & production teams ensured that all involved in the project had a sense of responsibility to uphold the integrity of these values through to final delivery. A rare privilege to work and learn on a project where these best practices were second nature, and helpful.
