Rapper. Christian. Weed-smoker. Deep thinker. Antagonist.
Justin Lampson wears many hats (but most often, a bucket hat with a marijuana leaf). His music reflects his struggles with mental health, and does not shy away from dark themes, but is ultimately poetic and hopeful.
He writes and produces his music with his friend and acclaimed hip hop producer Jon Reichhardt from his bedroom in South Windsor, Western Sydney.
An avid reader, Justin consumes a wide range of books in the areas of philosophy, theology and music.
As he releases his latest album online – unable to promote it due to financial constraints – and gets ready to travel to Bathurst to study psychology at uni, he reflects on the past and what the future holds for Misanthropik.
Objective
Our goal is to show the unique perspective and lived experience of Misanthropik, a Western-Sydney based rapper with cerebral palsy. This gritty observational documentary is an engaging and thoughtful portrait that is both entertaining and communicates personal and universal themes of the human condition.
